Google Maps is an intuitive website with a shallow learning curve so it will suit a one 40 minute class period. We choose to get the students to present their route from home to school in a PowerPoint as this will introduce or re-introduce presentation skills and also image editing tools such as ‘Print Screen’ and ‘Cropping’ to get the sections of their map in to PowerPoint. It should be a fun and interesting lesson for the students and will relate to their own lives and make the students more aware of where they live in relation to parts of Hong Kong. It could help them practically to apply the skills they learnt for future route tracing or searching using Google maps.
